Participants in the beginner-level class will focus on hymn playing. More precisely, we are going to discuss tempo, registration, phrasing, and legato issues.  Five widely known hymn tunes will be selected for the participants to choose from. They will be asked to prepare and play one of them. At the second session October the attendees will have the chance to present the progress they made within a month. Moreover we will work on creating hymn introductions. The goal is to create an introduction which will be suitable in tempo, meter and character to the previously learned hymn.

The participation fee is $60 for the semester (six sessions), or $15 per session (at the door), payable to the Philadelphia Chapter. The number of active participants will be limited to 12. The number of auditors is unlimited.

Event Dates: January 7, February 4, March 11, April 1, April 29 and May 13
